Saturay Night Doodle: Robot VS Puppy

Aight … it’s Saturday evening, it’s been a great day and here’s the wind-down doodle of the day: Robot VS Puppy. Who will win? Who shall emerge the victor?

This doodle came from playing with Doug (the family dog). Sometimes I play the hapless zombie and she, well, she plays the crazy tag-wagging dog. Today she was the crazy dog again but this time I chose to be the relentless robot. And that was enough to get me wondering…

I’m posting this in the hopes that public display might move me to decide: does this presentation of “Monsteroke” work with the relevant designs, or not? Its definitely something akin to what I’ve seen outside many a roadside tavern.

Concept drawing for my first 'monster' tee.

Part of my *cough* mandate is to put down marks that interest me and monsters are almost as good as robots in that respect (which means I’ll eventually be pitting them against each other in my own version of the Robot vs Monster wars)

This “Monster Down” idea will show one large, green, scaly monster lying among the ruins of the city. Perhaps the Air Force will be flying off into the sunset. We’ll see. It’ll be good, maybe with a retro cut-out look and feel.

Remember the “end of earth” disaster films Armageddon and Deep Impact? A bazillion metric tons of carbonaceous rock and ice hurtling through the wastes of space — only to slam into the Canadian prairies with nary an echo. Wouldn’t that make an interesting tee? (more…)
