Dutch Flag, Tulip-style
The Dutch flag, rendered in tulips.
My parents are both Dutch-born immigrants to Canada; the lot of us kids were born here so we’ve some pride in our hodge-podge Dutch heritage (aka Dutch-Canadian pidgin). So when I hear the phrase “the red, white and blue” I’m picturing the flag of the Netherlands. Then I think of tulips, klompen and butter. Yay, butter!
