“Robot vs Puppy” Painting (Started)
Since stepping out of the university studio and into married-with-children, virtually all of my creative work has been digital. In part because of my day job (web developer) but also in part because any and every gadget I see makes me go all ‘Oooo shiny!’ (This also explains all the old video game hardware and scifi toys from the 80s currently hiding in my basement).
Anyways, I wanted to get back into making my own personal marks in the universe, and chose to do so digitally. Digital painting. With fake oil paints. I could almost smell the turpentine.

Sunday, January 24, 2010 – Just a quick post: start of an oil painting begun using ArtRage Studio Pro (10×8). Am using short, lightly loaded oil, various brush sizes, on a basic canvas.
Man, near the end this really slowed the computer down: I’d lay down a brush stroke and then watch, seconds later, as it was magically drawn onscreen.

Monday January 25, 2010 – small update. Added walls to the room and began definition of for the floor. I’m also mostly satisfied with the current colour scheme; it’s nice and warm.
